Stupidicity...

I was very impressed with the Super Bowl. I wasn't too excited about those commercials this time around. Not awful, just not great. But Pop and I watched the whole game together. I kept him awake! (Well, the game helped, because it was a good match, regardless of the winner)

The murder of the English language is an ongoing process. It's killing me, as well. I like the latest weapons: letchoo is the new let you, Icantstanjoo replaces I can't stand you and dat's all I'll discuss witchoo aboutdat tonight, ok?

Why Women Are Superior, or, A Bet Update... So Jenna and I went at it via text message after my big Super Bowl Bet win, and she said that since I won, I don't have to do what she says. She told me that I can, on my own, decide exactly what jobs I'll be doing for her, you know, since I won. I love a clever woman, I really do...

The Breakfast Club was on TV Land the other night as I was surfing. I stayed with it. I really like that movie a whole lot, ya know?

Oh and, I have another candidate for my "Celebrities I Bet It Would Be Nice To Have Lunch With" Club. Her name is Amanda Peet. She just seems like a cool lady. So, so far it's Hilary Swank, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Jennifer Love Hewitt and Amanda Peet. I'll bet they're thrilled, huh? Who would you want to have lunch with (among celebrities, I mean)

OK, that's enough I guess. See ya later!

Stupidicity

Hi Folks,

Couple of things running through my head tonight.

Researchers have revealed that moderate drinking, coupled with moderate exercise, can reduce your risk of heart attack. They define "moderate drinking" as 2 glasses of wine, but they should know better than to say something so vague, as you know there's some guy out there filling a 900 oz glass twice a day. These new guidelines will stay in place until July, 2009, when they reveal that this combination will actually kill you.

But till then, drink up.

Remember the name "Jenna"...

I only have one bet for the Super Bowl. I don't "gamble" in the traditional sense, as in dollars and sense, but I do love my bets. This one has me, with the Giants, against Jenna, with the Patriots. Jenna lives here in my area, so just the fact that she's a traitor was enough to get my blood boiling, and draw me into the bet. I was so fired up I didn't even realize what I was getting into. She and I have entered into another "Winner Says, Loser Does" bet (aka a "Honey Do" bet) and she has presented me with a pretty formidable "To Do" list which will keep me very busy should the Giants lose.

Which they won't.

I'm that sure.

But just in case, remember that name. If I disappear a while, that's whose work I'll be doing.

Rudy and John Edwards dropped out. We're getting closer to Hillary. And I'm now going to try and go to sleep with that thought in my head.

Nice.

Oh, and I still miss Meta.

Techno and Some Other Stupidicity

For those who ascribe to the idea that nothing is impossible, I offer the following statement for consideration:

"Hold on a second, I just want to install this program quickly on my computer..."

I've been thinking about which gift is going to be the one that I try to get last-minute and spend 8 hours racing around trying to get.

I would imagine that if I should get to be 173 years old, I would probably start getting excited to wake up in the morning, no? That's kind of a ways off though.

If every single person in the country turned off the TV for 24 hours starting next Monday morning at 12:01 AM, how freaked out would the Nielsen Ratings people be?

I've often heard that when you die and go to heaven, all your questions will be answered. But do you think if I ask St. Peter where the hell all those socks that disappeared from the dryer are, he'll put me out?

And I'm curious...how many of us actually eat the stuff we bring home in doggy bags? I would imagine shrimp scampi is not a good idea for Fido, ya know?

And since I about lost my mind here tonight...I was talking about apologizing the other night, and then I thought of this: Did you ever have a moment where you were really snotty, or mean to some stranger that you know you'll never see again, but then wish you would so you could say you're sorry?

Ok that's enough I guess.

Stupidicity

A lot going on today. I got this notice from the DMV that my car insurance lapsed, and that I'd better get my ass to the DMV and prove that I had insurance, or they'd do awful things, and the Death Penalty might apply. So, I did what any person would do. I called my children to tell them goodbye, and that I loved them. I got my First Aid Kit, strapped on the body armor and riot helmet, and headed out.

BUT!

I wound up in a Motor Vehicle office in Eatontown NJ. I highly recommend the place. They were nice to me, there was handicapped parking within a mile of the building, and I was there less than an hour. I actually got to smile once or twice. These people were terrifically nice. I hate to take a chance by identifying the location because I'm sure if the State folks read this, they'll get right over there to straighten those folks out. And, get this: I straightened out the insurance mess by presenting my insurance card and license, and when she was done, the Lady there suggested that I get over to the License window and renew my license. There was NO one on line, and she said that I could renew now, even though I wasn't due till Novemeber. All that, in less than an hour. My car was still in the lot when I went out, so how cool was all this?

My good mood led me to stop and treat myself to my Evil Meal of The Week. I hit a Diner I used to frequent years ago, and decided on a Bacon Cheeseburger Deluxe to go. When I got home, it appeared that the "Bacon" of the "bacon cheeseburger" had actually gone through the grill on stilts, but raw bacon wasn't going to spoil this day. Thank God for garbage cans.

This evening I am requested to attend the PTA meeting at my daughter's new high school. That's part of the deal she and I have: she puts the effort and enthusiasm into her schooling, I'll be an extremely involved Dad on the PTA. She's doing it, so I'm doing it. Only catch is, the drive to and from the school is just under 60 miles round-trip. All together now: "DUMB!"

Hey, we do what we have to. This good mood may carry over for weeks, who knows!
