Brain Seeds

Lots of idiocy to talk about, I'd rather just sow it all right here in one article.

One of the kabillion things that annoy me is this: I really don't mind doing laundry. Really. What I don't like is the fact that when everything is washed and dried, it needs to be folded. And what bugs me there is, as I go through the basket, everything is inside out. Everything, every time.

Enter The Genius. In an effort to combat this time-wasting problem I devised a strategy: as I took my clothes off this week, I would turn everything inside out. Only took a few seconds a day.

So today was the day I hit the washer. Everything in, inside out. And then into the dryer. I brought my smug, righteous self down to the dryer when I heard the buzzer, prepared to be all proud of my ingenuity. I grabbed the clothes in one heap, dumped them in the basket, and carried them to the table to fold.

And there, lo and behold, was every garment. Inside out.

I give up.

And there was a damned sock missing, too.

10 3/4 ounces of canned corn doesn't seem like much. Unless you drop that can on your foot, and you don't have a shoe on when you do that. Then it's a Sherman tank.

The Idiots at Blogger still think I'm a Spam-bot. I have to do one of those idiotic word verifications every time I want to Blog. Maybe if I go there and shake one of the losers around like a windsock, they'll get the idea that this is at least a humanoid?

The funny thing is, I have another Blog here on Blogger, and I saw that a bot had posted an entry there.(I think Nancy saw that, right?) So for all the bullshit precautions these morons take, the Bots still get their work done. And humans have to do word verifications.

If they don't fix it by August, I'm shutting down and Blogging elsewhere.

I'm going to miss the late, great George Carlin and his humor. Funny guy.

I agree with you about a can of corn to the foot. And you didn't think it weighed all that much until a couple of crushed toes later. I'll miss George Carlin, too. He really was funny.

  2. Well babe, I can't remember why you left AOL, but I wish you would come back here with us AOL'ers. You know, you can block people from commenting in a public blog, but you can block everyone except the ones you want to read in a private blog. So think about it Mr. Genius (who I lurve with me hole hart)

  3. I am SOOOO with you on the laundry thing. In fact there is a couch full of inside out clothes and mismatched socks waiting for me right now :P

  4. I think washing machines like to be evil. This is one of their dirty tricks. I would say "Hey, then I just won't do laundry", but that would be gross.....and unsanitary.

  5. I have a theory about inside-out laundry...you see, I sew clothing. I know how it is constructed, from start to finsh. Clothes are made INSIDE OUT. So I think they are just yearning to return to their infancy, and go inside out whenever they can possibly get away with it. Maybe the washer feels like a womb to them...

I'm with you on the folding laundry thing. I have a basket of assorted bathroom items to fold. I think they should invent a dryer that will fold before the dinger dings.

Dang, Jimmy... corn on the foot? ouch!!

  9. I hate the folding part too...I wash it and get it in the dryer and then it goes into a bin to be folded, etc. Somehow the bin never makes it up the stairs...I'm spot on with the rest of the housework though and the clothes are clean...My all time worse thing about the laundry is those idiotic inside out tube socks. I am short, therefore I have short arms. I could dress in those things....

Ouch, it hurts just thinking of what it would feel like having a can land on your foot...

Spam bot...you sound pretty human to me, but you can never tell these days (winks). Wherever you go, just let me know and I'll follow.

George Carling was a once in a lifetime comedian. There will never be another like him. (Hugs)Indigo

George Carlin was such a pioneer in so many ways. Intelligent humor being the first that springs to mind - even with the watermelon! :)
I always turn my laundry inside out before washing, on purpose. I've convinced myself that it somehow preserves the item of clothing. ...and don't get me started on the ever elusive sock bandit!

  11. My washing machine is part of their evil network as well. Maybe they're being framed by the dryers. Poor washing machines - always have to take the fall!

  12. It is so true. I absolutely dislike folding clothes... mostly because of the turning them inside out. lol

  13. Laundry....not my favorite thing to do and yet it's the one thing I do the most of. Uggh!! I"m looking at a never ending pile of clothes sitting on the couch right now. Help!!

I've x-rayed many toes and feet because of dropped cans on those toes....some of them broken too. Hope you didn't break anything.

    Take care!
