I was watching a commercial for an insurance company the other night. The woman said, "We help people save menny."
"Menny?"
She said it again: "I like helping people save menny."
I assume she was saying, "money," unless there is something new on earth to save.
And for that matter, when did "thank you" become "think you". Listen for it. Especially on TV. They say it all the time now.
I think too much.
The one that gets me is ax. "I didn't ax nobody for help."

I think people have gotten so lazy with their speech lately. Irony is, even though I'm deaf. I'm always asking people to tell me if I mispronounce something or don't say it properly. I really detest the new slang. It's not something I would be proud of years down the line. (Hugs)Indigo
ReplyDeleteSeems we are getting lazy in almost everything we do these days :o(
ReplyDeleteI don't mind accents or saying things wrong nearly as much as I mind making up words altogether, especially words that make no sense like irregardless.
ReplyDeleteActually, I think it's an attempt at being cute and litte girl sounding.
ReplyDeleteSort of like that other voice that women use where they really should be in the bedroom...the drop at the end of every sentence? Lol... I swear the older I get, the more some shit bothers me, and yet, the less other shit bothers me. Ya know?
Heck, I think too much too.
Love,
Nance
