Burgery

Ok so I might say something like, "I'll grab a burger at McDonald's. Ya want one?"

Some people don't like McDonald's. Fine.

Normal Response:

"No thanks, don't care for McDonald's."

Psychotic Response:

"McDonald's, are you kidding me? I wouldn't eat that crap with YOUR mouth. Do you know what kind of garbage they put in there? Cow hooves, chicken feet, are you kidding me? That stuff is poison! McDonald's is a Communist company!

Please.

  1. Someone actually told you that McDonald's is a Communist company? Hahaha! It's probably one of THE most successful capitalist ventures in the history of humankind.

    Jeez, whoever said that...overreact much?

  3. Yikes ... I can't believe someone would say all that about McDonald's. I fall into the "No thanks, I'll pass" camp -- and by the way, I love the taste of McD's but I always take a pass due to the ingredients and a recent expose I read on the quality of their meat. But I'd never accuse them of being communist or including cows hoofs and chicken feet in their product. Specifically, McD's has benefitted over the years from lax government standards when it comes to processing meat such that there's a higher percentage than one might expect of cow feces mixed-into their hamburgers (unfortunately, it's unavoidable given the conditions at the processing plants they use ... unless the government were to impose more rigid standards requiring the belts to be slowed down). Also, they work with a factory in New Jersey to add certain chemicals designed just for them to make the french fries smell and taste so good. So, I'm not saying McD's is poison, but their hamburgers certainly aren't good for you. Details are in the book Fast Food Nation by Eric Schlosser. I'll bet your friend was probably aware of these things ... but overreacting!
    Best,
    Marty

  6. So much for kindness. This person is obviously bitter and using McDonalds as a launch pad. It would of been nice of her to at least acknowledge in a nice way that you were trying to be kind. Ugh! And people wonder why manners are down. (Hugs)Indigo

  7. Jimmy,
Just sitting here crying my eyes out all night watching the History Channel's 9/11 special. I couldn't help but think of you and everything you've been through. Just an old friend never forgetting.
