Collect

I thought about what I wrote yesterday with the whole "flying" thing and all. It brought to mind something else I wish was possible.

There's really no hope of a really quick fix for what ails us all in this country, and I'm sad to think of the hundreds, if not thousands, of us who probably haven't finished with the pain. We're expected to band together, suck it up and come out of this as a nation, yet so much of the trouble was created by people who don't identify, nor even care about what the many people who have been hurt by irresponsible, borderline stupid, behavior.

Wouldn't it be nice, if even for a few minutes, we could find a magic spring somewhere, and each and every one of us could just dive in for a minute or two, and wash away all the hurt? Just leave it behind for those few moments and feel good again.

Unfortunately, we all know there's no such remedy for this kind of pain. It's going to take a lot more work and sacrifice.

But it would be nice, right?

  1. It kinda makes you wonder if there is a god and if there is, why would he allow all of this?

  2. I know what you mean. It seems like every day I turn on the tv only to find more employers are laying off, stores are closing and profits going down. With the whole domino effect happening, it's really scary and I'm not sure anyone has the answer.

  3. Jimmy it would perfect if we could find a Magic Spring ~ I am sure you are right it is going to take a lot more work and sacrifice before things are sorted out ~ we can but live in hope that someone will come along with the answers ~ Ally x

  6. I think work and sacrifice is in order for our country, we have had it easy for a long time, and it is now time to pay the piper. I think we all need to help each other, and not look to the government for all the answers.

  7. I can't tell you how many times I wished such a place existed. In the end we clean up our wounds...bare our scars as legacy and stand proud we made it through. Every generation before us made it, we will too dear friend. (Hugs)Indigo

  9. Sorry I haven't been commenting. I've been reading and keeping up, but I had major surgery two weeks ago and it's hard to keep up with everyone and comment.

    Have a good weekend.

  10. There's not a band-aid big enough to stop the bleeding, I'm afraid. I don't think giving the federal government total power and trillions of dollars is going to fix it, either. We each need to be more responsible, but America needs to cinch the belt and pinch pennies - which Congress is too greedy to do. Let the states try.

  11. I don't like the path this country is heading; it's quite frightening. We can't look to the govt to solve all our problems; we need to look to ourselves. A magic spring wouldn't work, because there's too many idiots running this country into the ground. (Man I sound pessimistic!)

Having said that, we as a nation can always work a little harder to be a better people. It starts with us. ;-)

  13. OMG!...You are so right! I'm in management, and have had to post so many evictions. I just hate it. Even in these tuff economic times, I'm looking for different work because of it...I wish there were a way that the "Powers that be" could be given a reality check that hit them, right to the bone, you know? But, that happens only in a perfect world, right?

  14. Yes, we definitely need a break from all the angst. But you know what? We can do that...I for one refuse to give in to the "downness". If we think "broke" we're gonna be broken. I choose to think promise and possibility. There is opportunity and a chance to change things with every crisis. I look forward to what wonderful Americans will come up with to triumph!!! Onward and upward, my friend.

  15. What is so bad about all this is that the people that are the so called 'working class' will probably be hurt the most...what with groceries going up every week, wages at a standstill and unemployment rising everyday....all those auto company's 'important' people- the ones you rarely ever see, who were taking mega paychecks, mega bonus's, fancy cars and vacations to europe, etc. lived the high life and now the working class will pay the bill...once again. SAD ISN'T IT?
    love ya,
