Why You Lousy...

A nit is an egg that hatches a louse. And with a whole bunch of louses,
you got lice.

When I went to school, if you had lice, you got sent home to get rid of
them. If the teachers or whoever, looked in your hair and saw lice or
nits, off you went. Now, the nitwits in charge of the NY school system
want to change that. Under the new plan, if you have the nits, but no
louses, you can stay in school because nits isn't louses, they're just
lice eggs. Since there are no lice in sight, you're not lousy yet.

These geniuses also said that lice really don't pose a "significant
health threat", so they might reconsider whether or nit to excuse lousy
kids from school. But I would think that being in charge of the health
and well-being of children, while at the same time being a complete
moron has to be some kind of a threat, no?

Sorta makes your head itch, no?

  1. More evidence that our public school system is going down the tubes. I guess they don't want to 'offend' people by sending them home with lice. Give. Me. A. Break.

Have you heard of SB777? I blogged about it a few days ago. Talk about insane.

I think about lice every day. It always makes me itch. I have my head checked VERY often. I say, if they want to stop sending kids home because of lice, let them work in the schools every day and get it. (scratching here)

  3. Oh my God, that is ridiculous! Then again, not necessarily surprising. I have yet to be impressed by anyone running a school system. Of course, I've only lived in Chicago, South Florida, and Colorado. Apparently New York is the same. Maybe you have to live somewhere like Vermont to admire the operations of a school system.

  4. In the UK, the kid is sent home with a letter and told what shampoo to use. I thought that they didn't have this problem any more but it's very common apparently.

Yes, now we have little cherubs with lice running around our schools with birth control pills and condoms in their pockets...

    Ewww.
No...they might not be a health risk per se....but...ewwww. My daughter had it once...and there is NO way I would have exposed her to other kids until she was lice/louse/nit free.

  8. Yes, nits just tend to appear out of nowhere, huh? Good grief!!! School systems crack me up! They expect us to be a responsible parents, but then encourage irresponsibility with stupid ideas like this.
